James G. Fortier, MBA, an adjunct professor of Computer Science, has years of professional and academic computer science and data processing experience.  His experience ranges from computer operations to computer programming and management, to adjunct positions at Iona College, School of Arts and Science and Westchester Community College.  Mr. Fortier is a dedicated and highly esteemed teacher with an extensive business background. DP108A – Object Oriented Programming Logic - This course introduces the student to computer programming logic and design. The presentation encourages good style, logical thinking, and efficient structured design. Flowcharting will be utilized to explore good logic concepts. Programming concepts that are introduced and discussed are, decision making, looping, matching, updating, and arrays. Data structure and representation are an integral part of the course. Finally, the Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 / .NET programming language will be modeled throughout the course to enhance the student's grasp of programming logic and design.

DP103 – Computer Information Systems - A first course for students consisting of the history of computing and understanding how computers work. Lab work is hands on MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Access.

Fall 2004 

DP110 – Visual Basic.NET for Business - This course teaches the principles of programming including the constructive use of control structures, primitive data types, functions, formats and the program development process using event driven programming and object-oriented programming of Visual Basic.NET. Emphasis is on the object-oriented approach to application development, rapid application development within a graphical environment and the logical approach to offering business solutions.
